Once a week our Roaches get fed with Orange and Apples. This is an amazing tool for breeders. Why you ask? We've done a lot of research on that subject and the consensus is not clear but breeders that enjoy Oranges seem to mate faster, breed better and give birth to larger number of babies. Now keep in mind that everything we feed our Roaches has to go back into the reptile or animal they get fed to and so in order to get as much out of the Roaches system as possible we do this on Thursdays shortly after shipping cut off time since we don't ship again until Monday Morning.
The remainder of the week our Roaches eat a balanced organic diet of Mustard and Collard Greens, other greens as well as fresh veggies such as Carrots, Bell Pepper and Sweet Potatoes etc. from our local Farmers market.
It's always kind of amazing to see how many Roaches we really have over 17 bins and after today's feeding we realized we have to expand yet again! We recently moved the Roaches into a bigger room so we luckily have plenty of space for additional shelving!
As you can see we do NOT employ dark bins nor do we cover them up in any fashion. Also our egg cartons are stacked flat rather than vertically. We've tried both ways but the Roaches appeared to prefer the horizontal method. Given that we live in a spot in the world that has tropical weather by nature our inside humidity remains between 50-56% without us having to regulate it. Also the Roaches do share a room with our "QA Team" 12 bearded Dragons! - Since the Beardies have specific temperature requirements the Room is always at perfect temperature range allowing our Roaches to thrive and breed under perfect conditions.Â
Thank you for continuing to support us! Without you, none of this would be possible :)
