We went to the Post office this morning and the Post office will NOT ACCEPT ANY live shipments until Saturday, February 27th! What does that mean to our Subscription users? Unfortunately, we will NOT be able to get your shipments out to you until Monday, March 1st! Since your next weekly subscription will come in again before the 1st of March we will send you both Subscriptions in the same Shipment. If you would prefer a refund/or cancel your subscription please let me know and we can accommodate you as well. Please know though that purchasing new subscriptions is currently not possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you but we have no way of getting them to you. As a side note, our Post Master promised that they would send our concerns up the Line to enable Florida to ship LIVE ANIMALS within the state since Florida is not affected by any extreme weather conditions. We are getting a lot of inquiries about our Breeder Kits and would love to accommodate everyone whenever possible. More and more people are leaning towards trying to breed their own Discoids due to common shortages in the industry or the sheer cost of feeding your pet companions. Understandably so, however not everyone has the ability to remain online and check our Website to see if by off chance we added some, so we had to come up with a solution. In order to make this as fair as possible given the popularity of those Breeder Kits, we came up with the following solution: A waiting list! How will this work? The waiting list will give you an opportunity to purchase one of our Breeder Kits without having to hope that there is a chance you may catch one in the Store. You simply fill out this form, we hold on to it and as we release Breeder Kits we'll go down the line and mail you that it has become available and ask you whether you're still interested. If so you'll have 48 hours to purchase it before we go to the next person down the list. We hope that someday we can offer them again unlimited, but at this point, we will only have limited quantities available for a while. We hope this will give you an opportunity to acquire one as well. Upon clicking "Submit" you will receive an email confirming you as an addition to the Waiting List! You can find the Waiting List from the Menu up top or go to https://www.lunaroaches.com/wait-list Cheers, Mel

Dear Luna Roaches Family, As we get done with today's shipping we're looking at our stock and inventory and this last onslaught of orders has put a huge dent into our inventory. Add to that the Breeders have slowed down and we have no choice but to remove all roaches from stock until our inventory recovers. This is NOT a decision we made lightly. As a small business we know that this may well have a devastating effect on our customer base as well as on us, but know that we're doing everything we can to get our winged to breed and our juveniles to grow. So what does this mean for you? Existing Subscriptions will be fulfilled. We made a promise when you subscribed and we intend to keep that! So for you, nothing changes. You can still expect your subscription order to be delivered. We will also still ship all current orders out that have been made thus far. We will however not accept any new purchases or subscriptions until said time. We expect to be back to semi-normal operations by the third week of March if all goes well. That gives our roaches a month to get their act together to breed and grow. It will also help that the weather improves and hopefully the natural spring cycle of "That lovin' feeling" will kick in although I am convinced playing Marvin Gaye in the Barn helped as well. In closing we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you but we can't make them breed any faster, unfortunately. I was going to suggest a few other vendors but they appear to be suffering the same slow down as we are. In the meantime, show your local vendors some love. We have some people offering here Thank you for understanding and hopefully, we'll see you again after we're back in stock! Best, Mel & Chris Luna Roaches

This questions has spawned a lot in several of my Facebook Groups lately and here are some answers: We buy ours from https://www.zellwin.com/Egg_Flats_s/72.htm But there is also Amazon and some other places https://www.amazon.com/Nasco-Super-Pocket-Egg-Flats/dp/B077XJN8V2 If you have a preferred Egg Crate vendor do feel free to share here!

No matter how lovely and sunny it is here in Florida the one thing you can count on that at some point or another you will encounter the dreaded FLORIDA GNAT! We have had few problems with this thankfully but we do have to deal with flying stuff too. Last year we purchased these two items that have made ALL the difference. There is nothing more satisfying that listening to the sound of "ZAAAAAPPPPP" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087JMKJXY This sucker prompts me to yell "BYE FELICIA!" every time gets zapped ;) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QBPP66 and this little Gem keeps all of the Skeeters that chase me out of my car. I literally applied one of these on the inside of my windshield! They would probably work phenomenally as Gnat control if you put them on the top of your Roach bin, just make sure you're roaches can reach up that far LOL

Meticulously scrubbing and cleaning what you feed to your Discoids is vitally important. We recommend a big splash of White Vinegar in your cleaning water and a good scrubbing sponge! Why is this important? Farmers use pesticides to keep insects of their harvest and roaches are considered ... you guessed it... Pests! While it may not hurt you to eat as salad that hasn't been washed, this kind of thing could decimate your entire colony as even tiny amounts can be deadly to your Discoids.

In GENERAL DISCUSSIONS
While we love our Facebook Page and Group, we thought it was a good idea to start our own community here on our website. The idea behind that is that all of the information can be found in one spot. Right now there is so much knowledge sprinkled everywhere on our Social Media accounts that it is hard to remember what exists where and we fell that those golden nuggets will just get lost somewhere! To start we decided that the following boards would make the most sense: General Discussions - You can share your Stories, Announcements, Pictures, and whatever your heart desires. Heck show us your latest Reptile/Insect memes! We're always in for a laugh. :) Breeding - This is the board for any breeding questions, problems, things you want to talk about the "oh la la" of Roach mating. Store - The Store board is intended for questions about Stock if you're looking for something specific or if you wish we had something we don't yet offer, shipping, etc. This is also the place to ask if you need to figure out how something works on our site including our Rewards program. Tips and Tricks - Discovered something cool about Roach keeping you want to share? Want someone else to know something? Short cuts you've invented? How to sort bugs? This is your spot! We only have a few rules: Be NICE! Remember that golden rule your Mamma instilled in you? "If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all" - Our intention is to foster an environment suitable for all ages so please mind your P's and Q's. Spirited debates are perfectly okay, name calling is never alright. Please don't spam - We don't think this should needs any explanation LOL we've all been on the internet long enough! EVERYONE is welcome here. Whether you're a long time customer or someone who is thinking about venturing into the world of roaches, we welcome you with open arms! No Politics or Religion! Sorry, but we all know these never end well and this is just not the venue for that. And last but not least, please remember, we all started once somewhere. What may be common knowledge to some of us may be a brand new bit of information for someone else. Either way, any time you can spend spreading knowledge is time well spent! Go forth and enjoy yourself and remember, you can subscribe to post updates, etc. and get notified :)
